Why LEGO Should Explore Hydraulics Instead of Pneumatics!
Pneumatics are fun—but what if LEGO took things to the next level with hydraulics?
Right now, LEGO Technic uses air-powered pneumatics for lifting and moving parts. They’re lightweight, fast, and easy to use. But they also come with a few downsides:
• Not very precise
• Not very strong under load
• Hard to control smoothly
Now imagine hydraulics—fluid-powered systems—inside LEGO sets. You’d get:
✅ Way more power
✅ Super smooth and realistic movements
✅ Better control, especially for heavy machinery MOCs like excavators or cranes
✅ A whole new level of realism for serious builders and AFOLs
Of course, there are challenges too: hydraulics are messier, more complex, and could be expensive. But if LEGO made a safe, sealed system, it could change the game for Technic fans.
Looking forward for your opinions 😁
